30 Day No Sugar Challenge

Good Morning my loves!!
It has been way too long since I last posted. I apologize for the radio silence, but I have been busy transitioning into a new work life! It’s been quite exciting actually. Very different schedule and some adjusting getting used to it but I’ve been having the time of my life experiencing this new chapter of my story. 🙂

Because of this new change though…. I have felt myself lacking in my nutrition department. Maybe because of my birthday and Easter (Cadbury Eggs are my kryptonite) I indulged in way too many goodies. And it’s even harder right now because I am in Canada for the next 2 weeks and kind of forced to eat out everyday. BUT… knowing my body and what it needs, I have decided to do my ‘No Sugar for 30 Days Challenge’!! I feel like my insides could use a little detox from all my sugary desserts I love. Not only have I seen a slight shift in my body, one of the craziest things I’ve noticed from all this sugar I’ve been eating is how badly my skin has been affected. My face has broken out terribly recently and I am not used to it. I read this article (link below) called “3 Ways Sweet Tooth Can Ruin Your Skin” and I was in shock with how much sugar can aggravate the two major causes of acne: hormones and inflammation.

Sooooo who’s up for a little challenge with me?? I’ve done it before and I have confidence I can do it again. I will not sugarcoat it (no pun intended), it’s hard and is definitely not fun at times, but the results are SO incredibly worth it. This is what I will be doing:

• no desserts/candy
• no soda
• no overly processed sugary foods
• natural sugars in fruits, some honey, etc are acceptable
• go until May 25th

I also think its important to give yourself an end goal. Whether that be a reward for yourself or something to motivate you and keep you going when it’s 10:00pm and that warm chocolate chip cookie is basically flirting with you to eat. I am a firm believer that you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. How hard can 30 days be?? Also, if you’re going to be brave enough to try it with me I suggest taking a picture of your body and face/skin. I want to YOU to document a before picture so when our 30 days are up you can take an after picture and compare. I have a feeling you’ll be excited to see your results!! Let me know if you have any questions about our ‘30 Day No Sugar Challenge’. It’s a lot easier when you have people you love doing it with you… so lets do this!!!!

 

This is very scary for me to do but I hope it gives you some encouragement to take your own before pictures. It’s ok to see and admit to having flaws, we all do. So here are my “before” pictures! I feel like I am more accountable and inclined to finish out the challenge if I share mine with you.

  6. I’m in! A no-sugar (as in refined sugars) is a constant lifestyle change in trying to make. Refined sugars are bad for you in soooooo many ways! Nutrition is a huge passion of mine, I’m in his one with you! Xoxo

  8. Reading this while eating McDonald’s 😂, but i really really would love to try this! It’s hard though while still living with my mom and having younger siblings who eat sugar all the time. But I will try as best as I can! Thanks for the motivation Jenna!

  9. I’ve tried this challenge before for about 3 months straight and it worked!!! However, I slacked off for 1 month and I have noticed the difference. So, I will join you in this challenge! I’m excited to feel healthy inside-out soon.

  12. Defiantly going to be doing this with you! I have the worst sweet tooth (I just ate 4 Oreos and 4 Milano’s 😔) and know that is a huge factor (stress as well) as to why I can’t lose weight. I’m getting married in September and hopefully this will help me turn a corner and feel even more confident in my dress! Thanks so much for being you and sharing your story and journies!   15. Jenna I began on 26th this challenge with you and now it’s been 4 days!! I saw my sisters eating ice creams and M&M I WAS SUFFERING😢 BUT I’m proud of myself. That’s only the beginning yeah but I have THE MOTIVATION to Reach THE END LIKE A STAR😎

  17. Hey Jenna, it’s been 13 days since I began this challenge. I feel really strong, I didnt think that I could delete the sugar of my life. But I did it. And have to continue. I included fast food too as “sugar” in my challenge and to be honest I miss eating fast food with all my family ate near to me (Kebab, Hamburger,Tacos) but the motivation that you gave to me is so strong that I feel determined no matter what to reach the end successfully. Thank you 1 billion time. You re a real QUEEN😚😚😚
